GSWS Ward Secretaries should not be Transferred to their Native Wards GO 6

ORDER:
In the G.O.5th read above, Government have issued the certain guidelines for positioning and transferring of Functionaries based on the category of Village / Ward Secretariats.
2. In the reference 6th read above, the Director, GSWS, Vijayawada has informed that certain Municipal Commissioners have requested that they are facing problems while transferring Ward Secretariat Functionaries duly considering
“No Functionary shall be posted within native Mandal”. Further, they requested to revise the orders issued in the reference 5th cited above that No Functionary shall be posted within the native Ward in case of Urban Local Bodies instead of native Mandal for effecting transfers & postings of Ward Secretariat Functionaries.
Accordingly, the Director, GSWS, Vijayawada has submitted the proposal to Government for issue of revised guidelines.
3. After careful examination of the matter, Government hereby issues the following amendment of para 7 (iii) of G.O.Ms. No. 05, GSWS Department, dated.12.06.2025 for Transfers &Postings of Ward Secretariat Functionaries:
“The functionaries of the urban local bodies shall be transferred to any other wards except their native wards. This can include wards from other ULBs within the District”.
4. The Director, GSWS / All the District Collectors shall take necessary action accordingly.
